Nigel McCoy – Managing Partner

Nigel has over 18 years of experience in the Investigations and Security industry. He graduated from Sheridan College from the Investigations – Public & Private program and Business Administration/Marketing program. Nigel began as a co-op student at AFIMAC, the global security and investigations firm, and was hired full time as an Administrative Assistant once he graduated. From there he worked in an undercover and surveillance capacity, on his way to becoming Operations Manager. Nigel then worked for two other investigative agencies, where he held various roles. In 2013 he decided to pursue his own agency, Investigations Toronto.

In November 2021 Nigel was elected onto the the board of Council of Professional Investigators Ontario (CPIO) and is presently serving as the Director of Technology.

Nigel is also an instructor at Humber College, teaching the Surveillance Techniques course for the Protection, Security and Investigation (PSI) program.

In the little spare time he has, Nigel enjoys spending it with his family

James Winter – Director of Training

James Winter has been a private investigator in Ontario for 25 years.  Most of that time has been spent in leadership positions where he worked complex investigations and mentored countless others to be successful investigators.  ​

James is an accomplished investigative interviewer and is certified in the detection of deception, interrogation as well as Kinesic interviewing.  He is trained in mediation and dispute resolution and holds a certificate as a professional coach.​

James Winter was the former Instructor of Investigations at Conestoga College where he trained future investigators in the principles and practices of investigations.  He teaches courses in Private Investigations, Investigative Interviewing, Professional Ethics, Risk Management and Surveillance Techniques.​

James remains active in the private investigation profession.  He previously sat on the Board of Directors of the Council of Professional  Investigators Ontario (CPIO) where he served as the portfolio Director of Professional Development.​

James Winter holds the prestigious Master Investigator designation granted by the Council of Professional Investigators Ontario.
